let's go!!!

If you read or see my blog post, by now you should know I like shoes and preferably comfortable ones. I also like brand collaborations such as TOMS + Element, + FEED, and Charlize Theron.

This week a new collaboration that caught my attention was not with TOMS but, Keds for Kate Spade  these 4 limited edition sneakers were created to celebrate Kate Spade's 20 year anniversary.

My two favorites are the white with black polka dots ($75) and the pointer neon pink ($85). Which is your top pick?

floor decor!

Do you have wallpaper or stencil on your walls??? I recently came across floor stencils in a blog post over at Apartment Therapy and instantly fell in love with it!

These giant floor stencils reminded me of concrete floors, which are very popular in my lovely home Dominican Republic. They are an affordable way of making floors look nice and colorful without having to break the bank. A color is applied to the concrete and an unpredictable pattern is created.

I began doing research and found these amazing DIY’s: here, here, and here.

Drawing giant stencils on floors is a great technique for those looking to add a creative touch to their living or commercial space whether you have wood or cement floors.

mirror, mirror, on the wall...

...who's got the best mirror to match my home decor???

A mirror is one of many things every place needs. Besides the vanity mirror that is usually there when you move in to a new place, there are a few other ones in each home that I consider essentials. One is the long body mirror in bedrooms or dressing rooms. The other one I call ready mirror, ideal for the entrance or hall way in our homes.

Why call it ready mirror??? In addition to being a decorative piece, it's the one thing I go to when we are ready to leave and the hubby asks: Are you you ready?

Women love to see a mirror when we are leaving or arriving at a place, to take one last look and make sure everything is looking good.

For today's post, I selected some elegant mirrors that I hope will inspire you.

the monogram shop

Have you noticed how people love to leave their mark on things and places? Kids write their
names everywhere, parents write their kids names on all their school materials and lately I've been
noticing initials and name placed on clothing, tech cases, home decor and many more things.

Inspired by all the labeling, I decided to put together a list of stores that have a MONOGRAM section
at their shops and websites. Let me know your thoughts on the monogram trend in the comments below.
Am I missing a shop from my list? Do you like the trend or is it too 'grandma style'?

greencessories!

Hello! This has been a crazy busy week but I have not forgotten about the last green post
of the month. Just in case you haven't noticed, for the past few weeks I've been creating a
weekly green post to celebrate St. Patrick's and the Pantone color of the year. The first week
we featured home decor, last week I created a nail art tutorial and today I picked some green
accessories to glam up any outfit. I hope you like them as much as I do. Cheers!

flowery steps!

Have you noticed how flowers are popping up in stores lately? It's like fashion is desperate for spring
to get here! ...or maybe the desperate one is me so I keep noticing them everywhere I go.

Anyways, the trend is really cute so I thought some flowery shoe inspiration would be perfect
because even though it's still snowing in NYC, Spring is around the corner. I really can't wait!!!

green pot o' gold nails

As promised last week today I deliver another emerald green post. This one was inspired by the leprechaun's pot o' gold which is defined in the dictionary as ultimate success, fulfillment, or happiness.  Amazing words!!! :)

Ultimate success is what I experienced when I launched this blog and my hope that it will continue to grow. Fulfillment I feel every time I post something new. Happiness when I receive great response from family, friends and fans. I have noticed how much you like DIY's so I bring you my first beauty tutorial with green pot o' gold nails - perfect for St. Patricks Day.

Cheers! ;)

glitter guide

Shine bright with these glittery items on my wish list!

Sequins and glitter are mostly popular during the holiday season but all this sparkle is
too good to save up for such short time, I dare you to wear them now.

Below you'll find three Kate Spade pieces (Sandal, iPhone and iPad case) which I had
to add to this mood board because they are just beautiful and girlie to leave out.

Another favorite item here is the Ciaté Sequined Manucure Kit. Instead of having the
glitter in the bottle, it's applied separately and gives your nails a cool raw texture.

charming bracelet tutorial & giveaway!

Yay! The weekend is finally here! Yesterday, Cheers Cristalia celebrated one month of being public by
creating fun accessories. Today, I hope you are as excited as I am because I am sharing a tutorial
with you and giving away some really fun stuff to a lucky winner!!!

What I love the most about this tutorial is that it's affordable, looks really chic and you can find all the
materials at an arts and crafts shop.

I hope this inspires you to make your own fancy bracelets for yourself and your friends!
Read my step-by-step guide on how to create this charming bracelet and at the end you'll find the giveaway details.

You'll need:
  * Charm
  * Chinese knotting cord - 1 yard
  * Chain - 14 hoops (7 for each side)
  * Spacer Beads - 2 pieces
  * Scissors
  * Fabric glue

Start by cutting the Chinese Knotting yard in half.
Make a knot in the charm by folding the cord in half and inserting the ends through the
charm. Repeat this step with the other half of the cord.

Count 7 hoops on the chain and use it to weave the cord.

Always insert each side of the cord in theopposite direction. Tie a knot and repeat this step on the
other end of the other side.

Take a cord end from each side and insert it through the spacer bead. Follow this step with the
leftover cords bead.

Finally, tie knots on the four ends and cut using a scissor. To hold the knot in place, apply a small
amount of fabric glue to each end.

Fancy, huh!  =)

fashion watercolor inspiration

Get inspired with these fashion watercolors by Jessica Durrant, a fashion illustrator that I discovered on Etsy. She specializes in fashion, travel and lifestyle illustrations but what really caught my eye were the fashion illustrations.

As I read her bio I realize that she is pretty popular. Her illustrations have been featured in many magazines including Glamour and she has collaborated with Target on store visuals.

Check out my favorites from her etsy shop below.
