Hola! I am writing this post from the Dominican Republic. My first home. The country I was born in and where I spent most of my childhood. This beautiful crazy place that I adore. :)

Faux Tortoiseshell Accessories

Brown is color color of the month and although brown by itself isn't a very popular color in fashion (just shoes for me) there are patterns like the tortoiseshell that I have seen trending more and more. Here's my brown post of the week in tortoiseshell style!

Red & Brown Christmas Tree

During a quick visit to +IKEA last Sunday, I purchased most of my Christmas tree decorations. I wanted something pretty but didn't want to spend too much cash. My Christmas tree is probably 5 years old (if not more.) It came with the multi color lights installed so it's really simple to assemble every year. Just need to open up the branches and it's basically ready. I love the Christmas lights so could have easily left it as is (just the lights) but it needed some decor for when it's turned off.



Here's what I bought at +IKEA: a pack of 50 mixed (glossy, matte, and glitter) red balls for only $10 and to add some highlights 4 of their check pattern balls priced at 2 balls for $10. A bit pricey but worth the splurge given that I got such a great deal on the 50 variety pack.







Also, I added pine tree cones from previous years and used a cinnamon broom (makes the apartment smell delicious) as the tree topper. The cinnamon broom is from +Trader Joe's.

Puppy Tops

We all love a cute little puppy and I've noticed that many brands are creating tops with dog graphics. Even high-end brands, like Marc Jacobs (top #1), are using animal graphics on their tees and now sweaters. Other animals used are horses like this Horsing Around sweater by +J.Crew that sold out very quickly.

They are so adorable that even those of us who don't have any pets would love to wear them. Which puppy top would you wear?

Zip Wallet

You've probably had the experience when things come our of your wallet and become part of the mess in your purse. I needed a new wallet but I was reluctant to changing my mini wallet. It came with a Nine West purse my mother gave me years ago. Not the most glamorous wallet but very practical and my cards and money were always in place.

I decided to put it away last weekend when I bough a pretty fuchsia zip around wallet at at +J.Crew Factory. It's real leather and priced at $72 but I only paid $43.50 with a 40% off!

The zip around wallet is the best option because things are kept inside without the worry that they'll get out...just make sure you zip it. ;)

Isabel Marant for H&M :: Holiday Collection

Have you checked out the Isabelle Marant collection for H&M??? I'll admit that I wasn't really excited until I saw the beautiful items online; including sequins leggings, mini skirts, studded heels and silver color jewelry. The collection is set to be in stores on November 14th and it will be available online at 12PM EST. Here are the pieces that have caught my attention. Happy shopping!

Shooties = Shoes and Booties

I might have been living in la-la-land but maybe this is a new word to you too. I just learned the word shooties and I'm assuming it came from combining the words shoes and booties for those shoes that aren't really booties. It's a funny word so that gave me a reason to share six pairs from DSW.com, where I found the interesting word.

Brown shoes are my favorite because they are usually better looking than the black version but I'm including one black shootie. What do you think? Is this the first time you read about shooties? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Brown :: November's Color of the Month

I have not forgotten. It's here! November's color of the month is brown. A color of Fall that makes us feel warm. It's the color of coffee, chocolate, earth, some eyes, hair and skin tones. As usual, I started my Brown Pinterest Board and hope you'll pin along with me.

Some people have a preference for black over brown and vice versa but I love mixing both colors. Today I am wearing a LBD, black tights and brown boots. How about you? Do you have a preference for black or brown? Let me know in a comment.
